| About catfish |
A file search tool using different backends which is configurable via the command line.
Catfish is a handy file searching tool for linux and unix. Basically it is a frontend for different search engines (daemons) which provides a unified interface. The interface is intentionally lightweight and simple, using only Gtk+2. You can configure it to your needs by using several command line options.
Supported backends are currently find, (s)locate, doodle, tracker and beagle.
Requirements
This application requires GTK+ version 2.6.x.
Other dependencies include: PyGtk, Glade2, python-xdg (optional), dbus (optional) |

I hereby declare catfish 0.3 to be stable, as no bugs have been reported for a while. I removed the settings dialog for now, as I would be rewriting this for 0.4 anyway. A small bug I fixed has to do with the filetype buttons to always be icons with no labels, otherwise the left pane is way too big to be usable.
Please be patient while waiting for 0.4 with many improvements. I hope to be able to update in sane intervals again once the rewrite is in a good shape.
